Hi There! My name is Wendy and I am a woman in my early 50’s. I am a happy person who has been blessed with a wonderful family. I am happy with every part of my life and live my life to the fullest.
I am very fortunate to have my health as well. I have great blood pressure, and my health, in general, is great for a woman my age. However, I am considered obese and am at a high risk for a heart attack or diabetes, especially since both illnesses run in my family.
I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life. But since my numbers were always good, I never really worried about it. But now, in my 50’s I realize that it is the time I get my weight under control.
But losing the weight isn’t so simple these days. What I discovered is that what used to work in my younger years to drop pounds doesn’t work with my 52-year-old body. No matter how much I worked out, counted calories, and cut fat, I just couldn’t drop any weight
I realized it is way harder for older women than it is for younger women to lose weight. But to my surprise, I discovered something that worked for me, and that is a High Fat, Low Carbohydrate Diet. In other words, everything I learned over the years was wrong! But right or wrong, I don’t care. I just know I’m losing weight.
So this is why I created this website. I want to help other frustrated 50ish women, do the same thing as me. This site is more of a blog for me, so I can document what I am learning as I drop pounds. I’m hoping that my results will inspire others as well. So feel free to follow along and even leave some comments. I would love to hear from you!
Update: I am now down to 140 pounds and have been able to maintain that weight for over 4 years and I’m feeling great and loving life.
Keto is something that can work for anyone as a lifestyle and long term health. I sincerely hope this blog inspires and motivates people to lose their weight and get healthy and stay healthy for life!
If you are doing keto and getting amazing results I would love if you would share your story with me and my readers.
Update 6/26/19 I wanted to share with you what has been going on with me that past few years. After losing my weight, I wanted to help others do the same. So I began working as a weight loss counselor at Trimline in September of 2017. My journey continues as Brian and I will be getting married and moving to Florida! I have decided I wanted to take my love for helping others to the next level by working as a certified health coach and counselor. I am excited to see where my new venture takes me.
