Obesity Isn’t Your Fault!

If you are one of the 30% of Americans who is obese or overweight, it isn’t your fault. And you are not alone.

The frustrating thing is that most of us watch our diet, eat “healthy food”, watch calories or eat low fat. But nothing works. And for me, I realized it was because of the “healthy foods” I was eating was making me fat.

Many of the grains, fruits, and vegetables that I was eating for extra fiber and good health were full of sugar and carbohydrates. And what I didn’t know is that those very things made me crave more sugar and carbs. And not only that my body would store those things as fat.

Now I know that if I want to burn fat, I need to eat more fat and eat less or no carbs. This for me was mind-blowing because I had been doing it all wrong.

The fact is, we have been lied to over the years. It is more than calories in and out.  It is about eating real food, more fats, and more protein. It’s about eating fewer carbs and sugar. Really, it’s about eating real food.

I found this video very inspiring and had to share it with you….

Sarah’s rules for eating:

“If it says light, low fat or fat-free it stays in the grocery store.”

“eat food. Real food doesn’t come in a box”

“Don’t eat anything you don’t like”

“Eat when you’re hungry. Don’t eat when your not”

“No grains, potatoes or sugar”

I love that these rules are easy to follow because it is pretty simple. Anything that says low fat, turn it over and read the label. I guarantee you it has added sugar and carbs. Better yet, just eat real food!

The biggest reason there is an obesity problem with our country is that people follow the bad advice that is out there. I suggest that people who are obese and struggling with weight issues do their homework and get educated on obesity and the problems associated with it.

Here is a must-read list if you want to combat obesity.

When you do this, you will realize that obesity isn’t your fault. But once you learn what to do differently, then it is your fault if you don’t do anything to take back your health.
